FAQ

Q. Are your packages customizable?

A. Short answer: YES! Every couple is different so every wedding is different — therefore I think each wedding package should fit what you’re looking for! For example, some couples forego engagement sessions to save money or request less wedding day coverage. Or some couples would really like photo coverage of their rehearsal dinner, bachelorette party, or some couples split up their actual ceremony day and their reception day opting for an elopement and then a big party at another time! (This has been a great option for my coronavirus couples!) Basically, we can make a custom package that includes everything that’s important to you and leaves out everything that isn’t. I have my packages listed in a pricing guide to give you an idea of what most couples choose! Contact me if you’d like to see my pricing guide, or head over to my pricing page for a general idea of the average investment!

Q. What happens after I book you?

A. So you’ve decided you want to work with me- FREAKIN YES!!! I send over a proposal outlining the package and coverage we agree on. You sign it electronically and pay your retainer online through my client portal. You can do all this from your cell phone or laptop! If your coverage includes an engagement shoot, we plan this and meet up to take your photos! I include an hour planning meeting in person or virtually with all my couples — as your photographer I have a unique view on the different ways your day can be laid out! I also like to check in with you and make sure we're all on the same page before I show up to your wedding! Then, after your wedding, I'll send you sneak peek images within 24-48 hours. Then your entire gallery will be sent via an online gallery link within 6-8 weeks! You can print, download, and easily share your images from your link. You are also able to order albums and prints through my online gallery!

Q. Do you offer print services?

A. I don’t need to tell you to get your photos printed right?? There is something so different and special about holding an ACTUAL PHOTO. Put your photos up around your house! Have a cute box hold prints! Get an album printed! Gift an album to your parents for Christmas! I could go on and on. Your photos weren’t meant only for social media or to sit on your computer. Can you tell I’m passionate about this? LOL. In your online gallery I send you after your wedding, you can order professional quality prints, albums, greeting cards, wrapped canvases, and more! I even offer custom albums where they design the album and all you have to do is give me the green light to get it printed after checking out the proof! There really is such a huge difference between drugstore quality prints and higher end companies.

Q. Can I see a full wedding gallery?

A. Great idea!! Yes, you can! Reach out to me here and let me know you’d like to see one and I’ll send you a link! You can also see blogged weddings here. I typically send anywhere between 600-900 photos per wedding day. An entire gallery includes getting ready photos, a first look if there is one, bridal party photos, ceremony, toasts/first dance/cake cutting, and dancing photos of the guests and bride and groom!

Q. What’s your backup process?

A. You’re putting your memories in my hands and I don’t take this lightly. I won’t go into some stories I’ve heard about other people’s weddings and their photographer ‘cause that’s not gonna help anything, but trust me — you want your photographer to have a backup process. Both of my cameras have TWO memory cards that they put each image on. So already, when I take the photo, the image is in two places. Then, after each shoot, I backup the raw format photos on two external hard drives so while I’m editing, the unedited photos are in two separate places and then the edited photos are then backed up on your online gallery as well as two external hard drives. It’s so good for you to know that there’s no chance of your precious memories being lost!

Q. Do you offer a planning session?

A. Yes! With my couples, I hop on the phone or meet up in person and just chat through how they want their wedding to go, what their expectations are for their photos, and just get a general idea of what’s important to them. Some of my couples want a chunk of time set aside for sunset photos, some couples would rather not miss their cocktail hour. Every couple is so different and every couple has different parts of their wedding day that stand out as more important to them. Yeah you’ll work with your coordinator if you have one, but it’s nice to work with your photographer on this too!

Q. How do you deliver the photos?

A. Online galleries are becoming more and more popular — for good reason! It’s so easy for you to hop online from any computer or phone and share or download your photos. I’ll send you a link to your online gallery but also send a USB drive for you to have for your peace of mind. Most of my wedding packages also include a photo album. It is SO important to get your photos printed! PLEAASSSEE don’t look at your photos only on a screen!

Q. How many photos do you deliver?

A. Good question! I usually deliver about 50-100 photos per hour of shooting. So an 8 hour wedding package will have anywhere from 400-800 photos typically!

Q. What happens if it rains?

A. If you’re down to get wet, so am I! This goes for both couples sessions and weddings. I also have a clear umbrella we can use if you want outdoor shots without getting wet. If you’ve booked a couples session and you’d prefer it not be raining, we can discuss a potential reschedule! If it’s your wedding day — I’ll bring the clear umbrella and I’ll also be looking for areas nearby that are dry and would be beautiful to shoot in!

Q. What happens if I have to reschedule?

A. It’s best to reach out to me as soon as you think you might have to reschedule. If I’m not available on the day you’re looking at, I might not be able to reschedule your session. If I am available, we can totally talk about rescheduling! If we move forward with a new date, I’ll send along an amended contract with the new date. Again, definitely reach out as soon as possible if you’re thinking of rescheduling!

Q. Can I have the RAW photos?

A. Basically, the unedited photos. The short answer is no. Here’s why: my photography is an art process from beginning to end. I carefully select the best images from each session and deliver the best photos. I’m trained and have spent hours and hours honing so many skills including: selecting the best images, editing in a way that enhances the photo without overpowering it, and choosing which photos should be black and white. The way I edit is a huge part of my art and craft and I’ve painstakingly worked on perfecting it.

Q.What’s your cancellation policy?

A. You never know what’s going to happen. (Coronavirus is a PRIME example) Maybe you change your wedding date or decide to elope. I require a 50% retainer fee. That means that half of your photography package is due up front. The reason why I do this (and most other photographers as well) is because once you’re booked — I may be turning away other weddings or paid jobs because of the wedding you’ve booked with me. If you have to cancel for some reason, I’ll work with you to put the money from your retainer fee toward some other service or photography session so your money isn’t lost! My policy is also outlined in my contract. :)

Q. How would you describe your photography style?

A. I would describe my style as artsy, quirky, unique, and emotional and my wedding photography is centered around capturing the feel of the day and the personalities of the couple. I also really focus on candid moments, especially while capturing weddings. My style uniquely blends documentary style storytelling and art in the form of photos. I’m really inspired by film photography and love to get creative. I also really love capturing joy in any form.

Q. What’s your turnaround time? Do you offer sneak peeks?

A. Sneak peeks are such a fun touch to give you a taste of the full gallery to come! I offer sneak peeks within 24-48 hours from your wedding or session and I deliver the full gallery within 6-8 weeks.

Q. Do you have insurance?

A. YES! I’m licensed and insured! Many photographers are operating without licensing or insurance. Just FYI — it is illegal to operate a business without a license. (If you’re a photographer and you’re reading this — shoot me an email and I can help you figure out that process! It’s easier than you think.) A photographer might not know they need it to be legally running a business or maybe they’re trying to cut costs and increase profits. Either way, making sure your photographer is insured is basically like asking “are you legit?” If something happens to them or their equipment, they’re not going to sue you for damages because their insurance covers it. Besides, most venues require proof of liability insurance from all the vendors involved!
